Interested in becoming a Lion?

  • Serving as a Lion is a great way for people, regardless of their age, cultural background, location or circumstances, to get involved in the community.

We are all different and we volunteer for different reasons.

Some of us get involved for charitable reasons; some to meet new people or some to learn new skills. But most of us don't know about the variety of volunteering opportunities or the many other benefits of volunteering. Who knows, it just might change your life.

Apart from the satisfaction of helping out your community, there can be heaps of reasons why you should consider being a Diamond Valley Lion.
    Here's just a few:
    - Meet new people and make new friends
    - Experience new challenges
    - Raise awareness and support important community issues
    - Experience different cultures
    - Develop professional networks
    - Gain experience in a variety of roles
    - Explore different career and job opportunities

Oh yeah, and don't forget, you will definitely enjoy yourself!

  • It’s all good news.

Research has shown that people who volunteer report better physical and mental health. Now that's a pretty good reason to become a Lion.

    Research shows that volunteers have:
    - Longer life spans.
    - Lower rates of depression
    - Less incidence of heart disease
    - Higher functional ability

  • Many of us are time poor, we work or study full time, have family commitments, play sports and the list goes on; but even occasional volunteering can make a big difference.

Don't let a busy lifestyle stop you from getting involved! By understanding what we do and telling us what you have to offer, you will find being a Diamond Valley Lion most certainly can work for you.

We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, at 7:00pm for a 7:30 pm start. Our meetings are held at Diamond Creek Men's Shed, Challenger St. Diamond Creek, next to the Scout Hall.
